Please review the following guidelines and instructions:
- To be eligible for Youth Council participation, a young person must live in Frederick County and be between the ages of 12-24.
- Anyone can nominate someone they believe would be a good fit for the Youth Council. Those nominated will receive an invitation to apply when the Application Form opens.
- A nomination is not required to apply. Someone interested in serving on the Youth Council is welcome to self-nominate, however the Application Form can be completed without self-nominating.
- Multiple nominations for the same person does not make them more likely to be selected to be on the Youth Council.
- The Nomination Form is not the same as the Application Form. If someone wants be considered for a position on the Council, they must complete the Application Form whether or not they were nominated by someone else or were self-nominated.
- Interviews will be conducted after the application period closes.
- All applicants are encouraged but not required to attend free interview prep and mock interview sessions which will occur in-person (virtual attendance can be coordinated if requested) the week of June 22.
This Nomination Form opens on Monday, May 11, 2026 and closes on Sunday, May 31 at midnight.The Application Form will open on Monday, June 1 and will close on Sunday, June 21 at midnight.
