Frederick community youth center to receive major upgrades

Thanks to Senator Chris Van Hollen and Representative April McClain Delaney, The City of Frederick was awarded $3 million to help with fitting out the building. This building will feature a lounge, cafe, a gym, games, classroom space, and so much more!

This building will also house the 12-to-24 Collaborative, a collective impact network of youth serving nonprofits in Frederick County. We’re closely partnering with all the stakeholders, specifically the City of Frederick to help with activating the space and finding the best pathways for youth to succeed and access services in our community.

A First Look Inside: The Future Youth Center at 300 Scotty’s Bus Lane

The Frederick Youth Council got their very first look inside the future Frederick Youth Center at 300 Scotty’s Bus Lane—and the excitement was real! Guided through the building by Andrew Welker, Senior Development Manager with Ausherman Properties, Youth Council members explored the space they’ve helped shape from the very beginning through visioning sessions, community engagement, and big-picture dreaming.

The Frederick Youth Council’s Visioning Session gave members the opportunity to share ideas and priorities for the future Youth Center, ensuring it will be a welcoming, youth-driven space designed to support connection, creativity, and growth.
